Whoa! Tanisha Bakshi is all set for her Solo Art Exhibition & we can’t keep calm!

Youngest Indian Artist Tanisha Bakshi is all set for her Solo Exhibition

Tanisha Bakshi is the youngest Indian artist who does realistic painting. Her work style is very unique and involves the use of materials that are used by a mother on her journey through motherhood as a base for her artworks. For her, the use of these materials is indiscriminate and complex. She has made it an integral part of her art practice to represent a hidden history sacred to those in the paintings, a history that she is always honoured to become a part of. After a lot of hard work, she is now all set for her solo exhibition and just like her, we also can’t keep calm!

“Every scratch on a used thing tells a story, every hole in a used blanket or a ragged cloth has a history,” says Tanisha.

Well, Tanisha is counting this solo exhibition as one of the biggest milestones of her career. She has always followed her heart and painting is her passion. After the years of hard work, she is here and we are excited for her solo exhibition. Take a look at the details:

Essence of Life happening from 19th November 2022 to 23rd November 2022.

This solo show brings to the capital a meticulously curated selection of her most outstanding works from the earliest time to present day offering the viewers an intimate look at the veteran artist’s vast oeuvre. It highlights the artist’s engagement with realistic painting in a work style that’s unique to her and involves the use of ready-made materials as a base for her artworks. The use of these surface materials is indiscriminate and complex but yet moving. She has made it an integral part of her art practice which reflects a hidden history sacred to those in the paintings, a history that she is always honored to be a part of.

Through her artwork, she tries to depict the “Essence of Slum Life” by using two and three-dimensional surfaces, which represent their daily expectations and their harsh realities, their hardships, visions and their formidable happiness and love, formidable as it is hard to find in their unpredictable and unstable lifestyles and even harder to lose.

Her experiments using a saree, shawl, old bed sheet, carpet and other readymade materials as surface are loaded with emotional energies in the portrayal of soul and spirit and each painting carries a story to narrate. Her paintings may not be muted in colour or form, but they are bold and powerful. Thus, these artworks were highly appreciated by critics and media in her past exhibitions and this inspired her to create huge artworks in the same language for which she earned several laurels. She has since created many series, each with a unique style of her own.

Sneak Peek into her Journey from a Nerd to an Artist

Well, Tanisha was a bright student during her school days. She was a school topper but after class 12, she decided to pursue her passion. Her heart always belonged to art and photography. Tanisha took it as her career and her parents supported her.

Apart from painting, she decided to start Annsagar Foundation, an NGO to contribute to society and bring happiness in the slum life by providing them with food, utilities and quality education. Through her artwork, she loves to capture purest emotions. Happiness is not a destination, it is a journey. And money can’t buy it. One can be financially rich but love doesn’t ask your social status and that’s what she explains through her phenomenal artwork.
