Tokyo Olympics silver medallist from Manipur, Mirabai Chanu was appointed as an Additional Superintendent of Police. Mirabai Chanu took charge as an Additional SP in the Manipur Police department at the official residence of chief minister Biren Singh. She was awarded this job last year in honour of her historic feat at the Tokyo Olympics.
The 27-year-old girl belongs to Nongpok Kakching village in Manipur’s Imphal. In 2018, Mirabai Chanu was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, and Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, the highest sporting honour in India by the government.
Mirabai is the first Indian weightlifter to win silver at the Olympics and was awarded the Padma Shri and Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna by the Government of India for her contributions to the sport. However, she was then appointed as a ticket inspector in Indian Railways.

Geeta Phogat
This talented wrestler was bestowed with many international and national medals. The Haryana government has appointed international wrestling winner Geeta Phogat as Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Satish Kumar

Subedar major Satish Kumar is also a boxer. He has represented India in the 2014 Asian Games and also claimed a bronze medal. In the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Satish came home with a silver medal. Satish Kumar is also serving the nation as a Junior Commissioned officer in the Indian Army.
Lovlina Borgohain
Recently Lovlina Borgohain was in the news as she clinched a bronze medal in boxing in Tokyo Olympics 2020. She is also Deputy Superintendent of Police in Assam.
Deepak Punia

Deepak Punia has represented India in Wrestling at Tokyo Olympics 2020. In addition, he had held India’s head high in many international competitions. He is a junior commissioned officer in the Indian Forces. Naib Subedar Deepak Punia is also a junior world champion in wrestling.

Hima Das
This well-known Indian sprinter is also an Arjuna awardee and is popularly known as Dhing Express. She is the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in a track event at the IAAF World U20 Championships in 2018. Assam government has appointed as Deputy Superintendent of police under its integrated sports policy.

In Rio Olympics 2016, Sakshi Malik claimed a bronze medal in wrestling. She was the first woman to win a medal in the Olympics in wrestling. She is now serving in Indian Railways.
Ravi Kumar Dahiya
Ravi Kumar Dahiya is the 5th Indian to win an Olympic medal in wrestling at Tokyo 2020. When he clinched a silver medal in Tokyo 2020, the Haryana government offered class one job.
