Last week, we had some great and some not-so- great news for women. Women from all over the world made the headlines. From P. V. Sindhu’s loss to Katrina’s supposed wedding, here’s a quick peek at women in the news last week.

P. V. Sindhu loses in French Open semis

P. V. Sindhu, double Olympic medalist, lost the French Open semifinals match with Japan’s Dayaka Takahashi on 30th of October. The two had clashed in three games in the tournament, where Sindhu lost the last game. After the Tokyo Olympics, this was Sindhu’s second tournament.

Katrina Kaif to marry Uri star, Vicky Kaushal

Social media is rife with speculations of wedding rumours of Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal. The news broke on Saturday, when a close source reported that the two were set to marry during the first week of December. Although Katrina has denied these claims.

Kamala Harris gets the booster shot of COVID-19

The Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris received her booster shot for Covid-19. She received a moderna booster shot and encouraged the American population to take the shot as it is safe, free, and are life saviours.

Urmila Matondkar and Khloe Kardashian test positive for coronavirus

On Sunday, Urmila Matondkar announced that she has tested positive for coronavirus. She announced this news in a tweet and has requested everyone who came in contact with her to exercise caution and get tested. 

While on Friday, the famous Kardashian sister, Khloe Kardashian too announced that she, along with her three year old daughter True, has tested positive for the second time.

Akasa Singh evicted from the Big Boss house

On Sunday’s episode of Big Boss, Salman Khan announced the eviction of the singer AkasaSingh. The eviction was quite expected as there was very selective participation from Akasa’s side. After the episode aired, she took to twitter to share her experience.

Manushi Chhillar to represent UNICEF’S, nationwide youth campaign

Manushi Chhillar who is set to make her bollywood debut against Akshay Kumar in ‘Prithviraj’ next year will be representing UNICEF’S, nationwide youth campaign. In a statement released, she said there is an urgent need to connect young people to 21st century skills and livelihood opportunities, while engaging them as change-makers effectively.
