Monday morning has found the Indian Women’s Hockey team in the semi-finals binding new hopes for victory. Besides, P V Sindhu, Mirabai Chanu, and others have brought laurels home. Mary Com thinks she should have won
The Manipur-born boxer Mary Com had a fine run before being halted by the champion Nicola Adams of Great Britain in the semis. Mary technically won 2 of the three rounds yet it was the scoreline that was given significance. Nichola, with a scoreline of 2-3 won the match. Post the game, Mary Com had expressed why she feels she should have won.
Hemangi Kavi Slams the Trolls right
After being harassed for not wearing a bra in one of her videos, Marathi star Hemangi Kavi slammed the trolls appropriately. Kavi posted a video showing how to create perfectly round rotis. While there were positive comments on the video praising her roti-making abilities, Kavi revealed that one woman made an odd remark about her breasts. She also talked about how not wearing a bra gives women freedom and independence.
Usha Guduri: the woman who finds life on NASA
Usha Guduri is the one credited for a car-sized Mars rover that will explore the crater Jezero. She is known for overseeing software projects for missions such as Cassini, Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP), Dawn, and Mars Science Laboratory.

‘India’s Rape Scandal’ the Documentary to Air in the UK
On Tuesday, Channel 4 will broadcast India’s Rape Scandal, a documentary by Emmy-winning investigative journalist Ramita Navai. The focus of the documentary is on ‘systemic coverage’ of crime in India. The documentary has Nidhi Suresh from News Laundry and Aishwarya Ayer for The Quint speaking on Hathras Rape Case and Unnao Rape Case.
Contempt Petition against Kangana Ranaut
A few months back, writer Ashish Kaul accused actor Kangana Ranaut of copyright infringement. At the most recent development, he has filed a contempt petition in the Bombay High Court against Kangana.
Ashish’s Lawyers have said that they had sent a letter to Javed Akhtar and from his reply, it was revealed that the facts supplied by Kangana during the passport application are incorrect and it is a severe crime, say reports.
Veena Reddy was appointed as the new mission director at USAID
On Monday, July 26, Veena Reddy was appointed as the new mission director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This is historic because with this Reddy became the first American of Indian origin to be elected to this position.

Vandana Katariya scores a hat-trick
Vandana Katariya of the Indian women’s hockey team made history on Saturday by becoming the first Indian woman to achieve a hat-trick in hockey at the Tokyo Olympics. She was instrumental in India’s 4-3 victory over South Africa.
P V Sindhu wins Bronze in Tokyo Olympics
PV Sindhu won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics after defeating China’s He Bing Jiao in straight games. She is the first Indian woman to win two individual Olympic medals.
Indian Women’s Hockey Team enters Semi-Finals
On Monday, India’s women’s hockey team made history by defeating three-time Olympic winners Australia,1-0 to go to the Olympic Games semi-finals for the first time. The team is lead by Rani Rampal and will be against Argentina in semis.
