Here are the top 10 places in Rajasthan that you must visit-

1. Jaipur

The capital city is a beautiful confluence of culture and modernity. The pink city is known for its architecture, shopping, food, and history. Amber Fort, Nahargarh Fort and Jaigarh Fort are worth the hype and major tourist attractions. Do not miss out on the shopping near Hawa Mahal and a visit to Chokhi Dhani to experience authentic village life. 

2. Udaipur

The City of Lakes is a must-visit if you are looking to spend some peaceful time as well as enjoy the local scenes. With small cafes located along the lake, multiple palaces to view and greenery of gardens, Udaipur is one of the most beautiful spots in Rajasthan. 

3. Mount Abu

A hill station in a desert state cannot get better than Mount Abu. The exceptional views, lakes, and temples in Mount Abu are worth the visit. The Dilwara Temple is one of the oldest Jain temples that is carved from white marble and showcases the beauty of the land. 

4. Jaisalmer

Known as the Golden City, Jaisalmer is a desert city on the fringes of the Thar Desert. The main attraction of the city is the fort which is also a working fort in the sense that it is fully functional and has people living in it, cafes, restaurants, and shops. A few kilometers away from the main city is the desert, where you can camp in luxurious tents and also go for a moonlit walk or safari at night. The warmth of the sand, the coldness in the air and a walk in the desert is all you need to forget all your worries.

5. Jodhpur

Known as the Blue City, Jodhpur is home to one of the most magnificent and well-kept forts in India. One such fort is the Mahrangarh Fort. A view from the top of the fort helps you see why the city is called the Blue City. The Umaid Bhawan Palace is another luxury palace that you must visit.

6. Pushkar- Ajmer 

Pushkar and Ajmer can both be covered in the same trip as they are very close to each other. A visit to the Dargah Sharif in Ajmer is a must, as it makes you feel at peace. Pushkar is also known for the Pushkar Fair which takes place every year and sees the trading of livestock. The fair is a major tourist attraction that attracts people from all over the world. 

7. Ranthambore

Also known as Sawai Madhopur, Ranthambore is a must for wildlife enthusiasts. The National Park is well maintained, and a safari through the forest can also help you find a tiger. The Kachida Valley also offers a picturesque landscape. 

8. Sariska

The rich flora and fauna of Sariska make it worth a visit. The Jeep or Canter safari will allow you to enjoy the forest and look for animals as well. A short distance from Sariska is the Bharatpur bird sanctuary which is a hotspot for finding many beautiful birds.  

9. Bikaner

The massive Junagarh Fort in Bikaner signifies the valor of the Maharajas. A visit to the Karni Mataji Temple, also known as the ‘temple of rats’ is a must. It is believed that there are more than 25000 rats in the temple that cause no harm to the devotees and are also considered holy.

10. Alwar 

Very close to the national capital Delhi, Alwar is a small town that also exhibits the features of Rajasthan. The most famous destination here is the Bhangarh Fort, which is believed to be haunted. It is not for the faint-hearted, as the eerie and broken fort is believed to be cursed. 

Alwar is also known for its milk cake or ‘Alwar ka mawa’.
