Singapore Tops List of Most Powerful Passports Globally Again
Singapore claims the top position as the world’s most powerful passport evaluation performed by Henley Passport Index. Passports on the index receive quarterly updates to determine their rank as they represent the number of international destinations their holders can reach visa-free. Singaporeans possess one of the most potent passports in the global space because their passport enables them to enter 192 destinations without needing a visa.
India achieved the 87th position according to the index through which its passport holders can access visa-free travel to a total of 58 destinations. India has achieved notable progress in the last few years because its passport power has risen by 14 positions since 2020.
The Henley Passport Index represents the most respected passport ranking system and derives its data from International Air Transport Association (IATA) and additional information sources. The index evaluates freedom of travel privileges by considering the number of countries a passport grants entry without visa requirements and through evisa and visa-on-arrival policies.
Acording to the Henley Passport Index the ten strongest passports worldwide include:
1. Singapore (192 destinations)
2. South Korea (191 destinations)
3. Germany (190 destinations)
4. Italy (189 destinations)
5. Finland (188 destinations)
6. Luxembourg (187 destinations)
7. Spain (187 destinations)
8. Austria (186 destinations)
9. Denmark (186 destinations)
10. Netherlands (186 destinations)
The index shows that progressively fewer nations can access countries which maintain powerful passports. Singaporean nationals achieve visa-free entry into 192 destinations but Afghan nationals can access just 27 countries through their passports without a visa.
The Henley Passport Index delivers exciting knowledge about how passport strength enables unrestricted international movement. India shows signs of passport power improvement even though it maintains further development in this area.
