The options for taking registration offline again can be considered a significant achievement since it was temporarily stopped because of overcrowdness and various complaints regarding the organization of the process, which many of the pilgrims faced.
In response to the matter, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that such situations have been some sort of indicators of improvement where facilities at ‘offline registration centres’ in Haridwar and Rishikesh have been enhanced. He explained the level of pilgrim flow, suggesting that, for instance, up to 14. There is good news for the Char Dham yatra as 3 lakh devotees have visited the yatra so far. Pandey further revealed that in a bid to sort out the backlog in registrations that has been experienced at both centres, about 25000 backlog registrations have been effectively handled ensuring that this activity was not out of order.
Pandey also suggested that the allocated ratio at these centers could be extended if the need arises, given the increased traffic and crowd intensity.
In recognition of the above management challenges, the offline registration moved from the district tourism office to Rishikul Ground due to congestion. This act was taken well in advance as a measure that aimed at preventing any form of congestion and to ease the process of registration that any pilgrim aspiring to undertake this noble journey would undergo.
In consonance with Pandey, DM Haridwar Dheeraj Singh Garbyal rightly underscored that the core concern of every authority for Kumbh pilgrimages is pilgrim welfare. He revealed that in order to attend to any accidents the medical teams with ambulances have been posted at the offline registration centres. These committed squads have been assigned the responsibility of provision of medical examinations on all would-be pilgrims to give an assurance of health fortunes of the potentially weary and famished pilgrims on their religious journey.

The deployment of medical teams indicates the administration’s commitment to protecting pilgrims’ health and welfare while also taking a holistic approach to improving the pilgrimage experience. These extensive steps also demonstrate a determined effort to overcome previous issues, resulting in an environment favorable to spiritual fulfillment and pilgrimage satisfaction.
As previously reported, more than 650 pilgrims were denied access to Badrinath due to a lack of proper registration. This approach was consistent with officials’ efforts to restrict pilgrim travel to the Char Dham and avoid the chaos observed earlier in the yatra season. With the offline registration method in place, pilgrims will be able to avoid avoidable obstacles along the route.
