Yogi Adityanath’s New Slogan Highlights Unity Amid Opposition Criticism Over Cabinet Meeting at Mahakumbh

Yogi Adityanath has adopted a new motto that promotes unity in response to opposition criticism during the Mahakumbh cabinet meeting

In the face of opposition criticism about the cabinet meeting in Mahakumbh, Yogi Adityanath’s new slogan emphasises unity

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has introduced a new slogan, “Ayodhya aur Mahakumbh ka ek hi sandesh, Ekta se akhand rahega ye desh” . He announced this during a rally in Milkipur, where bypolls are scheduled for February 5.

The slogan emphasizes the shared values of Ayodhya, home to the Ram Temple, and Mahakumbh, a significant religious gathering in Prayagraj, promoting unity as the key to national strength.

Opposition’s Criticism

The announcement comes amidst criticism from Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, who questioned the state government’s decision to hold a cabinet meeting at the Mahakumbh site in Prayagraj. Yadav remarked, “Kumbh or Prayagraj is not a place for political decisions. Organizing cabinet meetings there is political. Many SP leaders have visited for holy dips but didn’t publicize it.”

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla defended the move, accusing the SP of hypocrisy. “They criticize the cabinet meeting at Mahakumbh while celebrating extravagant events like ‘naach-gana’ in Saifai. This shows their dual character,” Poonawalla said.

Cabinet Decisions at Mahakumbh

During the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved several development initiatives for the state. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak stated that discussions also included preparations for the Ardha Kumbh in 2031, focusing on improving infrastructure such as bridges, roads, and hospitals in Prayagraj.

Congress Raises Allegations

Meanwhile, UP Congress president Ajay Rai accused the government of corruption in the Mahakumbh budget, alleging mismanagement and insufficient preparations. Rai pointed to recent fire incidents at the event to support his claims. He criticized the cabinet meeting as a drama, turning a spiritual event into a political spectacle.

Despite the criticism, the Yogi government has remained firm on its commitment to making Mahakumbh a grand success while integrating cultural and developmental goals.
