WhatsApp beta gets voicemail & call back feature for Android
The Facebook owned messaging service WhatsApp, which is used by more than 1 billion users has been updating its app with many of new features lately. Since the service has added voice calling feature, there are reports surfacing that the messaging service will add call back and also voicemail feature.
Early this year in the month April, a translation document had hinted at WhatsApp getting this feature. Now, finally WhatsApp is planning to roll out the feature to its Android Beta program users.
The updated WhatsApp app has been available to Android Beta user group and also available in the form of a signed APK from the APK Mirror. Once WhatsApp version 2.16.189 has been installed on your phone, try calling one of your already existing contacts and this feature does works regardless of the version installed on the recipient’s device.
With the updated version of the app, when users call someone from WhatsApp and if the recipient declines of the call, the caller is greeted with a new screen which will show three options – cancel, call back and also record voice messages.
WhatsApp is currently testing these features only with beta users and it’s still unclear when the messaging service provider plans to further bring the option to more stable builds.
