Vice president of Maldives, Ahmed Adeeb was arrested on Saturday. He has been alleged of plotting assassination of President Abdulla Yameen.
Last month, when Yameen was returning from Hajj pilgrimage he was hit by a bomb, though he escaped unhurt.
Adeeb, is arrested on the charges of treason and is held in Dhoonidhoo Detention (prison island).
