Transporting coal through waterways can help nation to save 10k cr annually: Nitin Gadkari

Shipping Minister, Nitin Gadkari has revealed that Inland waterways can not only boost the movement of passengers and goods across the nation but can also help to save 10,000 crore annually while transporting coal.

He further added that, he is hoping that Parliament will give a go ahead to the bill of converting 111 rivers across India into National waterways in this winter session.

Waterways are cheaper and more environmental friendly for transporting goods. It will help in saving logistic cost and will boost the movement of goods and passengers.
