According to Reuters Polls, RBI is expected to leave its key interest rate steady at 6.75 percent next week as this time the apex bank is expected to cut rate only once throughout the year as rising inflation ties its hands.
This will mark a turn from cooling domestic consumer price inflation, which allowed the RBI to lower rate four times in 2015.
RBI previously cut 50- basis- point in September that took market by surprise, but the RBI isn’t planning to act as aggressively it did in 2015.
