Tamil Nadu will witness heavy rains
In parts of Tamil Nadu and north region heavy rainfall is been forecast. According to Chennai Met department well marked low pressure area is likely to move towards North West direction today.
This will result in heavy rains in most parts of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, the unseasonal rain has brought some respite to the scorching heat in Tamil Nadu.
The Met department has forecast heavy rains in coastal and northern parts of the state.
There has been heavy rain in Nagapattinam Cuddalore and isolated rain in Pudukottai, Tiruchirapalli and Thanjavur last night.
These rains have disrupted the voting process yesterday in many places as there was power cut too. Met department has also issued warning that squally winds would hit Tamil Nadu coast at a speed of 50 to 70 kilometer per hour.
They have also advised the fishermen to not to venture out in sea off the coast in Tamil Nadu. At the same time warning signal has been posted in Nagapattinam Port.
