Two Surya Kiran aircraft crashed during practice in Bengaluru
Two Surya Kiran aircraft of the IAF crashed during practice near Yelhanaka airbase in Bengaluru, a day before the opening of the Aero India show. According to reports, one pilot died in the incident and two others are safe. A civilian was injured during the mishap. The debris has fallen near ISRO’s layout, Yelahanka new town area.
According to eyewitnesses, they have seen parachutes but all the other details remained hazy. Defence Minister Nirmala Sithraman said She is aware of the incident. But she did not elaborate it further. Notably, Surya Kiran aerobatic team has been an eyecatcher at multiple aero shows in India. It had recently upgraded to Hawk from Kiran aircraft.
