The Supreme Court has given order to former Union Minister of Telecom, Dayanidhi Maran to appear before the CBI for questioning seven days which starts from 30 November to 5th December in the matter related with telephone exchange scam.
Justice Thakur insisted that CBI should prepare an “appropriate” questionnaire for Dayanidhi Maran and the accused BSNL officials to get to the foundation of the case.
The court said questions should be asked about who gave the permission for the installation of the hasty lines and why order was given?
The apex court also made it clear that there shall not be any custodial questioning being asked against Maran.
Maran has been accused of installing 323 telephone lines at his home in Chennai which was allegedly used by his company Sun TV.
