Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra and M.S.Dhoni up the creek without a paddle! (IPL Scandal)
Leaving the twenty -20 tournament into uncertainty, a Supreme Court appointed- panel gave climax to the two year old betting scandal of Indian Premier League.
On Tuesday the panel banned Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings from Indian Premier League for next two years.
Getting their comeuppance sooner rather than later, they are in deep trouble with the order of India’s Supreme court appointed panel.
Though not implicated in any way in the order, the financial ramifications are still going to be felt by Ms.Shetty and M.S. Dhoni.
Dhoni had been the face of Chennai Super kings and he managed to win IPL two times but then after suspension of the team, he has to face the tainted image even if he was not aware about the muck around him.
The committee also banned former Indian cricket board president N- Srinivasan’s son –in- law Gurunath Meyipaan in the same scam.
With all the stuff hitting the fan all at once – LaMo, Shilpa, Kundra, Dhoni, Meyipaan, the very existence of IPL in it’s existing form comes under cloud.
For the sake of Cricket lovers in India and abroad, and the sport itself, let us hope that better sense prevails and a more transparent and stringent system is adopted to make IPL robust.
