Shillong celebrates One billion tourist One billion opportunities
In line with the United Nations observation World Tourism Day, India offers one billion Tourists and one billion opportunities. This is the understanding a sector of trade that has elevated a boost in socio-economic and environmental development through the years requires.
The drive in Shillong, Meghalaya was organized at certain tourist spots such as Lady Hydari Park and Wards Lake. Here a large gathering of youth and various skills based training institute such as IHM participated to clean and preserve the cultural and natural heritage around the changing landscape in Shillong Town.
Tourism, as a leading employment sector has always provided important livelihood opportunities to many trained youth. In driving an inclusive development of providing an understanding of various communities to the tourism sector, a more robust employment development is expected.
