Rats with Autism!
‘Autism’ is a lifelong mental disability in which person face difficulties in communicating and relating to other people. This disorder not only affects human beings but can have serious impacts on animals as well.
According to a study conducted by MIT researchers on rats revealed that some behavioral symptoms associated with autism can be reversed by tweaking a gene called ‘Shank-3’.
This gene ‘shank-3’ is responsible for communication it makes brain cell to communicate with each other. Lack of this gene leads to autism like behaviors and it is found that tweaking the gene can reversed some of those autism like behaviors.
