Reacting adversely to the communal incident in Dadri, and other such incidents of intolerance, India’s President Pranab Mukherjee said, “ I firmly believe that we cannot allow the core values of our civilisation to be wasted and the core values is what over the years the civilisation celebrated diversity, promoted and advocated tolerance, endurance and plurality….”
Concerned over the increased religious intolerance in the recent past, Mukherjee chided political parties and other vested lobbies to cease and desist from such activities, which tear the fabric of unity of the country.
