Palestine was voted overwhelmingly to have its Flag raised in United Nations, New York City.
The resolution was adopted as a symbolic move to highlight Palestinian Aspirations for Statehood.
There were some countries that abstained like Germany, Austria, Finland, Netherlands, US, Israel and Cyprus. These nations claimed it would break the practice of flying flags only of member states.
