Obama endorses first Gay U.S. Army Secy
Eric Fanning has been nominated to be the 22nd Secretary of the US Army. He is currently serving as the acting under-secretary.
A known gay, Eric has high regard among the Army brass for providing exemplary leadership.
He is also instrumental in the 2011 decision of the military’s don’t tell, don’t ask policy to allow gays and lesbians in the army.
The combat-ridden Army will see for the first time an openly gay secretary heading it. In which the army with its traditions, will witness various new challenges and demands for its’ troops scattered around the world, while budgets are constrained at the same time.
