In something remniscent from spaghetti westerns of the 70s, with dialogues like ‘Shoot first…talk later’, NASA is about to do something similar, but on a gargantuan scale.
In a collaboration with Brooklyn, U.S.A. based Honybee Robotics, NASA has developed a ‘shotgun’ wich has the capability to shoot asteroids in space.
The purpose of this gun is to shoot off bits of asteroids, in outer space, so that the chunks can be brought into moon’s orbit.
These chunks will then be collected and tested in laboratories here on Earth.
