K Nagarathnamma a social worker, and a famous name in theatre, has been selected for the prestigious Sri Maharshi Valmiki award for the year 2015-16.
Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya confirmed in a press release that a committee headed by writer Baragur Ramachandrappa commonly shortlisted the name for the popular award.
Pundalika Halambi, president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat,said that The list of awardees is yet to be finalised and will be announced soon.
