Myanmar President reaches Delhi
President of Myanmar U Htin Kyaw has been in India from 27th August for a four day visit. He visited the Taj Mahal and arrived in Delhi from Agra on Monday.
His visit to India after assuming the post of President in March is a step to ensure India- Myanmar relationship and also to discuss bilateral talks, the1,600 km-long Indo-Myanmar border and militant activities.

He was received at Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday. Bilateral talks between the two have begun, as tweeted by Vikas Swarup the official spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs. He also tweeted- ” Paving a new road of friendship btw #IndiaMyanmar.PM @narendramodi receives President U Htin Kyaw at Hyderabad House.”
His visit is also significant to Indian Government’s Act East policy.
