Modi pays obeisance at Tirupati Tirumalla Devasthanam
India’s Prime Minister took time out from his busy schedule today after laying the foundation stone for the city if Amravathi, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, and visited the nearby temple of Tirupati Tirumalla Devasthanam.
TTD is one of the most revered Hindu shrines, devoted to Lord Venkateswara, also called Lord Balaji, a form of Lord Vishnu. Nestled in the hills above Tirupati town, the temple is visited by hundreds of thousands of pilgrims daily.
After offering prayers, Modi said “ I am privileged to get the blessings of Lord Balaji. I am confident that with his blessings the country will maintain its peace and unity and will be able to fight poverty.”
