Modi maintains ties with Obama, after talks with Xi
Pursuing an approach of the multiple engagements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised U.S. President Barack Obama for the leadership he shown for G-20 and also asserted that the grouping in the future would further succeed if it is pursued as a “collective, coordinated and target-oriented” approach.
Mr. Modi had also held talks with the Chinese President Xi Jinping, which is widely seen as an effort to reboot the ties between New Delhi and Beijing.

In his intervention, which was held during the first session of the G-20, Mr. Modi had underscored that all members of the grouping faced some common set of opportunities and challenges.
He had also highlighted that India aimed to improve its financial system, to boost domestic production, enhance the infrastructure investment and create a pool of human capital in the country.
