Assuaging concerns of their European customers about data snooping by the US Government, Microsoft’s Nadella announced an option for European customers of Microsoft to have their data transferred to Germany instead.
Microsoft has tied up with German telecom major Deutshe Telekom to set up two data centers for this purpose. Under the terms of agreement, Microsoft will not have direct access to customers’ data. This will only be possible once customers give a no objection to Deutsche Telekom to give access to Microsoft.
