MacArthur Foundation closes door in Russia
The MacArthur Foundation, a prominent US-based Philanthropic organization has announced that it is closing its Russia office. This is because of new Russian Law imposed upon 12 other similar non-governmental organizations, based on national security restricting foreign funding for distributing subversive material.
It has given $173 million in grants for promotion to elevate higher education, addressing human rights abuse, and limit the proliferation of nuclear weapons in Russia through supporting certain NGOs.
