Just like human beings now trees will also get their identity cards in a Kolkata Suburb. As part of a project by Konnagar Municipality to evaluate the crucial role of trees in combating climate change, they have decided to issue identity cards to trees.
As per the reports, the authorities have issued identity cards to 28 varities of trees. These I.D. cards will be hung around trees, and by looking at them one can know the species.
This will also inform the onlooker about the contribution of that tree and species in combating air pollution.
