In a first of its kind scenario, a Guinness World Record has been set by Ishika Taneja, an international make-up artist who did air-brush make-up on 60 models in mere 60 minutes. The event was not less than a marathon because as the clock was ticking the heart beats of the audience was getting faster. Especially in the last five minutes, everybody including Ishika, was nervous about whether she would be able to make it or not.
The 60 models were divided in 6 groups and Ishika worked on them one by one. As per the rule, Ishita cannot create the same look for the two groups and she cannot use foundation of any skin type, instead she had to use a contrasting color to be noticed by the panelist of Guinness World Record.

The amazing fact was that none of the faces looked like someone had done makeup just because they had to.
They were as perfect as if the make-up was done with loads of patience, time and precision.
The event happened in Delhi’s one of the most happening shopping centers, the DLF Promenade and on the occasion of the second anniversary of Nirbhaya Rape Case.On being asked that why she chose such a day for this big happy event, Ishika said, “My parents have always taught me and my sister to use the best day of our life to inspire people around and do something for a cause. This is a big day in my life so I wanted to dedicate it to Nirbhaya. The case of Nirbhaya has not yet been given the justice and even the public has gone quiet about it, so through this method I am trying to wake up the people who are sleeping to take actions because it is time to raise and unite our voices and do the right thing not only for Nirbhaya but for other people as well who have been molested in some or the other form.”
Further informing the audience, Ishika said, “We are writing a letter to the government to take actions for the increasing crimes in India especially against women. The government should aim at cleaning up the minds of the people. Treat the victims as equals and stop victimizing them at your own places and instead punish the culprits. The letter also has the pointers that were promised after the 16th December case, although they were followed for a specific period of time, the situations went the same as before. I think we should celebrate the good in and around us and work towards getting a better tomorrow. I wish to see a country where people have the fear for law rather than taking advantage of its loopholes.”

On the occasion, the ALPS also donated 12 lakhs to the Nirbhaya Foundation to educate several kinds of victims so that they will be able to work and earn their own living. Ishika says that without her family nothing would have been possible and that they played a major role in making this dream come true. She said that one has to believe in themselves and their dreams and that if they work towards it, they can definitely reach to them.
“My mother has been an inspiration and her strategy was very important in making this record. Fathers have always been known as the ATMs, so not only has my father given me money to invest but he has also designed the make-up tables I used. My sister has managed the entire show in a short time because she was looking after the jewelry, the models, hair etc. So everyone has been a great support in this journey.” says Ishika.

Further in conversation with One World News, Gunjan Gaur and Bharti Taneja spoke about how they always believed in Ishita and her dream.“I have brought her up and have always supported her in whatever she had decided. What is good about her is the fact that she does everything with heart and passion, so we knew when she took the decision to set a world-record, that she would do it.” said Gunjan Gaur, sister of Ishika Taneja.
The event was indeed a celebration but also a reminder, that it is time to make changes and not to expect someone else to take the first steps, because if it was Nirbhaya then, today it could be you, so be conscious and considerate about not only your own family but for others too.
