Is Global Warming Driving Refugee Crisis
The refugee crisis seems to be more complex as each day passes by.
It is not just the swarms of human exodus that are forced to leave their homes to seek a better life either from war-torn countries even such as far as Afghanistan, Syria and Libya. Some are even traversing hostile territory simply for better economic opportunities.
According to U.S. President Obama, everyone on Earth will be impacted negatively due to paucity of natural resources. This will happen primarily because of changing weather patterns due to global warming.
In Syria, the civil war has been contributed to by a climate link of a severe drought in the fertile Syrian valleys in which the Syrian government responded poorly. It created the conflict and flared up the refugee’s crisis.
Even though there are a couple of other factors that have contributed to 4 million Syrian refugees fleeing to Europe. The chain of events seems to point inherently to global warming as a major factor.
