India bids Adieu to Air Chief Marshal O.P. Mehra
India bid a fond farewell to it’s brave son Air Chief Marshal O.P. Mehra, who died at the age of 96 due to natural causes in the Cantonment hospital, Delhi on Sunday.
The Government offices were shut for half a day on Monday to pay homage to the brave soldier, who distinguished himself in his long stint in the Indian Air Force, and was it’s chief from 1973 to 76.
Thereafter he served as Governor of Maharashtra and Rajasthan. He was known for his impeccable career, honesty and integrity, and is remembered not only by those who knew him, but by the entire nation.
He is survived by one daugther and three sons.
