HIV positive boy represents India in Thailand Marathon
Babu Senappa is the 15 –year- old HIV positive will be representing India at the upcoming Laguna Phuket international marathon in Thailand.
This marathon will be held on June 4. His passion overrode all the difficulties in the life of Babu and helped him prove that a disease can’t stop him from fulfilling his dreams.
Babu is the sole HIV positive participant to take part in the marathon who has taken everyone by surprise as well as his grandparents.
The boy hails from the rural district of Hoskote in Bengaluru who lost his parents to Human Immune Deficiency Virus (HIV) at the age of 6 years.
Senappa also took part in the International Children’s Olympics in Netherlands last June with his friend Manik
Prabhu. Manik is also an HIV positive boy. Both these boys have made history by being the only two HIV children athletes to take part in such games.
On being asked about HIV, Senappa says “H,I and V are just alphabets from my book”.
