In a shocking incident from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested five individuals linked to the alleged human sacrifice of an 11-year-old boy, Kritarth, a Class 2 student at DL Public School. Authorities stated that the school’s owner, Jasodhan Singh, believed in “tantrik” rituals and instructed his son, Dinesh Baghel, the school director, to sacrifice a child to ensure the institution’s prosperity.

On September 23, the father-son duo, accompanied by three other staff members, abducted Kritarth from the school hostel. According to Ashok Kumar Singh, the additional superintendent of police (ASP) in Hathras, they took the boy to a secluded location for the ritual. During the process, the boy woke up and began to cry, prompting the accused to strangle him to silence him.
After the abduction, the accused told Kritarth’s parents that he was being transported to a hospital in Baghel’s car due to illness. However, family members intercepted the vehicle midway and discovered the grim truth of their son’s death, immediately alerting the police.
The Uttar Pradesh Police swiftly acted on the information, leading to the arrest of the five suspects: Jasodhan Singh, Dinesh Baghel, principal Laxman Singh, and teachers Ramprakash Solanki and Veerpal Singh. An FIR has been filed against them under Section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
This incident is not an isolated case. Earlier this year, a mother-daughter duo in Muzaffarnagar was arrested for the gruesome killing of two young children, ages four and seven, as part of another human sacrifice ritual, which was also linked to a belief in supernatural entities.
Such incidents highlight the disturbing persistence of superstitions and black magic practices in parts of society, necessitating greater awareness and education to combat these beliefs and prevent further tragedies.
