Drought funds for Karnataka, Puducherry and Arunachal Pradesh
The Centre on Friday granted a drought relief fund of Rs 842.7 crore for areas that have been hit by drought or flood. The states that will be receiving this sanctioned amount are Arunachal Pardesh, Puducherry and Karnataka.
This decision was taken by a committee which was headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh.The proposal for the same was made by a Central team that visited these places.
Arunachal Pradesh and Puducherry have been hit by flood and are getting Rs 35.14 crore and Rs 84.33 crore respectively . On the other hand, Karnataka, which is affected by drought, has been given Rs 723.23 crore.
