Dodos were not fools
The famous extinct dodo bird, which is popularly believed to be stupid was not stupid in real. As a research has showed that they were fairly intelligent. Its brain size compared to body size was on par with the pigeons, which are considered to be moderately intelligent, researchers analyzed a conserved dodo skull.
The researchers also found that the dodo had an enlarged olfactory bulb, the part of the brain responsible for smelling, a characteristic feature of the birds, which usually focus on their brainpower view.
The dodo (Raphus cucullatus) was a large, flightless bird that lived on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. They were last seen in 1662.
Although, birds have become an example of uniqueness, obsolescence, stupidity, and extinction, and have appeared in the popular stories ranging from Alice in the ice age, most aspects biology dodo are still unknown. This is in part because of the dodo specimens are extremely rare, having disappeared during the initial stage of the natural history collections.
