The ace cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhone has disassociated himself as a brand ambassador of Amrapali Group. He took this step after a social media campaign by unhappy residents of the company’s Saphhire project in Noida.
These people tagged Dhoni in their tweets and asked him to either separate himself from the group or force them to ensure completion of pending work.
During a press conference earlier this week, Dhoni has ensured to take up this matter to the Group as they must deliver the promises “if you see the economy… it is quite tough for the builder as of now. But at the same time, whatever is promised, I think it needs to be met,” he had said.
The upset residents had alleged that among other things, the electrical panels were open, wires were hanging and firefighting equipment, sprinklers and alarms were non-functional. As the management was not attending their problems, they asked Dhoni on twitter to help them with issue by tagging #AmrapaliMisuseDhoni last week.
But according to Amrapali this topic is about some minor fitment problems which were unnecessarily blown off.
Interestingly, the celebrities are now bounded as a parliamentary committee had recently recommended a maximum punishment of five years jail and a fine of Rs 50 lakh for appearing in misleading advertisement and endorsement.
