Delhi Metro Pink Line is now functional: Route, Fare, Plan


Finally, the much -awaited Delhi Metro Pink Line has been inaugurated. Now, commuters all across the city will have an easy access to four major markets of South Delhi.  The Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus- Lajpat Nagar section of Pink Line was inaugurated @ 9:30 am today. And it got open for the public in the afternoon.

Delhi Metro Pink Line Inauguration

The Delhi Metro Pink line was inaugurated by Arvind Kejriwal, Cheif Minister, Delhi, and Union Minister of housing and urban affairs Hardeep Singh Puri Via video call.  The total length of the section is 8.1 km.  Now, commuters can use this services.  Notably, Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus- Lajpat Nagar section is the second section of the Pink line. The corridor between Majlis park and Durgabai Campus is already operational and it was inaugurated in February.

South Delhi Markets have come closer, thanks to Pink line

Now,  Delhi Metro Pink Line is operational, the commuters will be able to reach the city’s popular markets such as Sarojini Nagar, INA, South Extension and Lajpat Nagar. Notably, this portion will have six metro stations including South Extension, Moti Bagh, Bhikaji Cama Place, Sarojini Nagar, Moti Bagh, INA. Except for Moti Bagh, all the other stations are underground.

Interchange in Pink Line

There are two interchange stations one is INA and the second one at Lajpat Nagar station. The interchange at INA will connect to the yellow line and Lajpat Nagar will connect to Violet Line. As per DMRC, from Monday to Saturday, 20 trains will run in a single loop from Majilis Park to Lajpat Nagar. However, on Sundays nine trains will run. According to DMRC, the remaining section of the pink line would get operational in September.

Conclusion

Thank you, DMRC for making our commute easy and hassle-free. The pink line will surely make our life easy. Also, it will connect to major markets of South Delhi. And we can’t keep calm!
