About 50 dead bodies were found in the hull of a migrant boat on Wednesday. The boat was rescued off Libya’s northern coast.
The death count has now risen to 2,400 people who have perished at the sea this year while crossing the Mediterranean sea to Europe.
While thousands of migrants have died and many thousands have also been rescued.
Wednesday’s rescue operation was one of 10 such missions taking place in the water’s of Libya.
