The Supreme Court has asked the Maharashtra Government to pursue orders and start the process of issuing new license to the dance bars.
The supreme court bench of Justices Dipak Misra and P. C. Pant said that, the government should start issuing fresh license to dance bars within two weeks.
Senior advocate Harish Salve, who appeared on behalf of the Maharashtra Government, said that any suggestion or order from the apex court would be respected.
The ban also covered the sectors of drama theatres, cinema halls, sports clubs and gymkhanas, where entry is permitted only to the members.
