Carbon Emissions Are Falling Fast
The latest data reports from the European Union suggest drop in carbon emission levels.
This is largely due to a lot of European countries switiching to wind turbines and solar panels to meet their electricity requirements. Also contributing are the switch to more efficient lighting solutions like CFL and LED, greatly reducing greenhouse emissions.
The data show that the 37 industrialized countries that signed up in 1997 to the Kyoto Protocol have exceeded their promised emission cuts by a large margin.
It serves a beacon for the climate change agreement in Paris in December. The first successful commitment to the Kyoto Protocol. This should hopefully create a more ambitious goal of installing more renewables and energy- efficient targets.
