India’s Border Security Force, a para-military outfit, is in charge of patrolling and protecting India’s border with Pakistan.
Recently the BSF seized two consignments of heroin weighing 11 kgs., worth 550 Million Rupees from the Indo-Pakistan border. This takes the total seized this year alone to 207 Kgs.
The significance of these seizures is not only in terms of curbing International drug smuggling, but also in terms of anti-terror, as the proceeds from the sale of these drugs are largely used in terrorist activities in India by elements whose aim is to foster instability in the country.
