BJP takes ‘Emergency’ shot at Grand Alliance in Bihar!
A program called ‘Loktantra Ke Prahari’ (Guards of Democracy) is being held to felicitate political prisoners held during Emergency in India in the mid 1970s under the Congress regime. This was conveyed by Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
This is to be celebrated as events across the nation on the ocassion of the birth anniversary of Jai Prakash Narayan on Oct. 11.
Taking a direct pot shot at the Grand Alliance, Naidu refererring to the Bihar Poll alliance between Janta Dal (U) and the Congress Party, said, “…which imposed Emergency, sent lakhs of people jail and even attacked JP.”
JP Narayan was a Janta Dal leader from Bihar, who was arrested, imprisoned and tortured during the Emergency by the Indira Gandhi led Congress Government in the 1970s.
