BJP criticizes AAP’s protest outside Delhi CM’s house, calling it an act of anarchy
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following a confrontation between AAP leaders and the Delhi Police outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence. BJP leaders described the incident as a clear display of anarchy.
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi accused AAP of trying to deflect attention from alleged corruption. “The reality of the monument of corruption is coming before the people. Whatever AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj did today is a clear display of anarchy,” Trivedi said. He referred to the controversy surrounding the alleged misuse of public funds in the construction of the CM’s official residence, which the BJP has dubbed the Sheesh Mahal.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh marched to Kejriwal’s residence to counter the BJP’s allegations. The AAP leaders wanted to invite comparisons between the PM’s and CM’s official residences but were stopped by police from entering the premises.
After being turned away, Bharadwaj told reporters, “We came here to end this argument of ‘your house versus my house.’ We suggested that both the Prime Minister’s and Chief Minister’s residences should be shown to the public.”

Following this, Bharadwaj and Singh staged a sit-in protest outside the CM’s residence. Heated arguments reportedly broke out between the AAP leaders and police personnel stationed there.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva accused AAP of staging a drama to divert public attention from the alleged irregularities in the construction of Kejriwal’s residence at 6, Flagstaff Road. “Why didn’t they think of showcasing the Sheesh Mahal earlier? Why insist on visiting now when the model code of conduct is in effect?” he said.
The standoff highlights the escalating tensions between the BJP and AAP amid ongoing allegations of corruption and irregularities in Delhi’s governance. Both parties continue to trade barbs, with each accusing the other of political theatrics and mismanagement.
