There was an attempt of assassination on Iraqi Defence Minister Khaled al-Obeidi.
He was on a trip to Baiji, a Iraqi town, with the country’s largest oil refinery. This region has been under seige by ISIL for more than a year.
His conveyance was under sniper fire, but, the attempt was not successful and he is safe. The people behind this attack have not been discovered nor has anyone owned up to it.
