Asian Games update: India won 3 medals in shooting in a single day
Asian Games Update- India wins 3rd shooting medal of the day in Asian games taking place in Indonesia. 16-year old Saurabh Chaudhary bags gold in 10m Air pistol final with a games record score in his debut Asian Games. “I did not feel any pressure”, said Chaudhary, who chose sports only three years ago. Also, Abhishek Verma has won a bronze in the same event. Simultaneously, Sanjeev Gupta also made the country proud by winning a silver in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions final.

India had defeated Iran by 21-16, 19-21, 21-17 in the first match and won India’s maiden Asian games medal in Sepaktakraw. However, lost to Indonesia 0-3 in the second Preliminary Group B match.
In shooting, Lakshay Sheoran and Shreyasi Singh are currently competing with five team final of the event. Lakshay put India in joint-second place by shooting 4/5. On the other hand, in wrestling, Divya Kakran has got a second chance at winning a medal after getting knocked out in the quarterfinal match. Although, Kiran, who lost her quarter final by 2-4 will not get any opportunity further. Coming to the women teams, who are no doubt making the country proud. In kabaddi, Women’s team enter semi-finals by thrashing Indonesia by 54-22. India has finished 7th in the ranking round of the women’s recurve archery event.
In Tennis, Ankita Raina has achieved her second back to back victory and advanced to the quarter finals of the women’s single tennis event. In spite of all these, one shooter has been eliminated from the final. Although India is safe with Saurabh at 2nd place and Abhishek ranked at 6th place.
