Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) held an audition for the aspiring models for the upcoming Amazon India Fashion Week. The Amazon India Fashion Week is going to take place in the month of March showcasing the latest collections of India’s foremost designer. Last week FDCI announced its latest partner for the fashion week as Amazon.
The audition was a golden opportunity for young aspiring models to walk the runways of India’s prestigious fashion week. The dress code for the audition was Tube Top/Singlet Short Skirt/Hot Pants/Heels. Large number of models came from across the world to try their mettle.
The judges for the audition were well known personalities of fashion industry including Rohit Gandhi, Rakesh Thakore, Poonam Bhagat and Ashish N. Soni.
Poonam Bhagat said, “You need height, the right kind of walk, the right proportions and certain attitude. These are the four basic things you need to have and of course you need you to have a nice face. The face doesn’t have to conventionally beautiful as long as you have the right body and the basics.”
Rakesh Thokore said, “Make up and style plays a very crucial role in the presentation of the models. It transforms the model to a different level.” He further added, “The selection process is very critical as it sets the standard for the models as well as FDCI.”
Edna Harnandec, one of the shortlisted models, said, “I feel so honoured because I was waiting to do this for a very long time. I have been here for over a year, and now I feel a little proud of myself.” Edna hails from Mexico.
Sheherazage, another shortlisted model, said, “I am in India for 3 days. I was a little nervous and still Am because I know it hasn’t finalised yet. I’ll waiting for the final word. “
Anna came here “I didn’t understand what happened exactly because I came for fitting not for auditions. I didn’t bring any dress and auditioned in whatever I was wearing. That’s why I am thrilled to be selected.”
A total of 10 models were shortlisted for the next stage.
