AAP v/s Centre: Centre returns 14 Delhi government bills
Aam Aadmi Party suffered a major setback, when the Centre on Friday has returned 14 bills which were passed by the Delhi Assembly.
Moreover, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has targeted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the central government has returned the bills.
The development came on the day when the CM has said that there will be a referendum on the lines of Brexit on the full statehood of the national capital.
The Center’s move will surely lead to another set of round of the confrontation with the AAP government.
However, Centre has defended its stance, saying that, it has returned the AAP government bills as they did not follow proper procedures while adopting the legislations.

According to a senior Home Minster official, Delhi is a Union Territory, any bill which it has to adopt in the assembly should be first sent to the central government for approval.
If in case the nod has been given by the Centre government, then only the bill can be moved for legislative approval.
When the Assembly passes the bill, it has to be sent to the Lieutenant Governor and then again to the central government for Presidential assent.
In this case, the Centre claimed that the Delhi government has not taken any prior approval from the Central government and has straight away passed the bills in the assembly.
