New 100 Rupees Note to get circulated by next month
The Reserve Bank of India has given a lavender wash to the new 100 Rupees Note. According to reports, it will start getting circulating by next month. Two years ago, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced demonetization, the powder blue 100 Rupees note was left untouched. Well, it was one of the most -wanted currency in India till new note of Rupees 2000 and Rs. 500 arrived in banks.
How will it look?
The new 100 Rupees will be of violet color. The latest variants feature Gujarat’s ‘Rani Ki Vav’ (queen’s stepwell) along with the Swacch Bharat logo and slogan on its reverse and Gandhji’s placement in the note is same. The base color of the note is lavender. According to a statement by RBI, ” The dimension note will be 66x 144mm. All the Rupees 100 notes issued by the Reserve Bank will continue to be legal tender. Notably, the new note is slightly smaller than the previous one. Interestingly, UNESCO had recognized Gujarat’s ‘Rani – Ki- Vav’, the 11th-century wonder in Patan, as a World Heritage site. Now, it will make a grand debut on this new 100 rupees note.
