As per the reports, WhatsApp will soon allow users to edit sent messages. The messaging app has been adding a slew of new features to its service for all of 2016, and it seems some more changes are expected to come in 2017. According to info put out by Twitter account WABetaInfo, WhatsApp upcoming feature will let users revoke and edit messages they have already sent.
Notably, the twitter account has put a video which shows how the messages can be revoked. Currently, this feature is available for iOS users. The feature allows the users to revoke a message even after it has been read by recipient. This revoke feature also extends to group chats.
Apart from it, the instant messaging app is also working on the ability to edit the messages. As per the information at WABetaInfo, the ability to edit the messages that has been already sent is actually disabled by default and it is under development.
What all more WhatsApp in planning?
It is also working on a new way to show the status. Interestingly, it could be soon made private. Users will also be able to view just how many of their friends saw their message update, and they will also be able to delete these status updates. The instant messaging app is working on all these features and is trying to make more like the Snapchat.
Interestingly, with over one billion monthly active users, WhatsApp is the world’s biggest instant messaging app, with its closest rival Facebook messenger in terms of its user base.
Whatsapp has over 160 million users in India and it is one of the most popular apps in the country. So for now we need to wait for the final launch of this feature by WhatsApp.
